Summer Programs

Program Info
Hours 8AM–5:30PM Monday through Friday.

Early drop off (7AM) available at an additional cost of $30 per week.

Each week includes a specific field-trip related to the theme (Wednesdays), a park day to a specific park (Fridays) by bus as well as one walking trip to City Park or bus to James Hill. The other 2 days are spent at Nurturing Hearts exploring the theme!

Cost
The weekly ‘A la Carte’ option is available to both current and visiting families. We are offering the Full Summer option only to current Nurturing Hearts children:
A la Carte / By the Week:
• Current Children: $280 per week + activities*
• Visiting Children: $309 per week + activities*

Full Summer (9 weeks): $2,000 + activities*
Full Summer payments made in 2 eTransfers / cheques of $1,000 due on or before June 15th and July 15th.

* Additional cost for field-trip activities on the following weeks: Skating & Ice Exploration, Science & Discovery, Golf to the Max, Space and Animal.

Skating & Ice Exploration Week | July 02–05* (*closed July 01, 2024)
Add $100 for Skating lessons at NTR Skating Rink
Join us for a refreshing blast of winter to cool off your summer with this program. One hour of exclusive ice time will be available for Nurturing Hearts Montessori. When we aren’t at the ice rink, we will be doing all sorts of fun ice and snow activities to celebrate all things winter! We transport the children to and from the ice rink, providing before and after activities. No skating experience is necessary. Skate rentals available. Helmets required. Arts Exploration Week | July 08–12
Time to get creative! During the Arts Exploration week children will spend the week exploring a variety of different art forms. Children will explore different mediums and create their own masterpieces from sculpting, drawing, painting, and so much more. Each day will be packed with colourful, fun-filled crafts and activities. We will make it, and you can take it. Friday Outing: Redwood Park

Science & Discovery Week | July 15–19
Add $30 for Science World Field-trip
Is your child curious about the world around them? This program will nurture their curiosity and explore everything from biology to chemistry to physics! With such a magnificent world, there is so much to explore – from the tiniest of molecules to the furthest reaches of space. Through different experiments, visuals, and activities – this week of camp is the perfect opportunity for your child to indulge in the world of discovery. Includes a field-trip to Science World. Golf to the Max Week | July 22–26
Add $100 for Westover Golf Academy Lessons
We’ve partnered with Westover Golf Academy for this week! With a ratio of 5 children for every instructor, kids will learn hands-on skills and golf techniques. Children will have daily instruction here at Newlands. Clubs and balls will be provided – bring your own clubs if you’ve got them! When we’re not playing golf, we’ll be having fun playing summer games and sports of all sorts.

What a Wonderful World – Nature Week | July 29 – August 02
From camping to gardening, this exciting program will foster a love of the Great Outdoors! Kids will spend the day outdoors learning camping skills, and getting their hands dirty exploring the beautiful environment around us. If you have a nature lover on your hands, this is the place to be! Includes a field-trip to Edgewater Bar. Friday Outing: Williams Park

Space Week | August 06–09* (closed August 05, 2024)
Add $25 for H.R. McMillian Space Center Field-trip
Climb aboard our rocket ship, we’re going to the moon! Join us for an adventure-filled week. We will explore every corner of space from the Milky Way to the black hole. Your astronaut will have a blast! 5, 4, 3, 2 1… let’s go! Friday Outing: Campbell Valley Park

Sports of All Sorts Week | August 12–16
Does you child love sports and games? Then this is the week for you! We’ll challenge the kids to learn new sports or work on skills they already have. Soccer footwork and drills, basketball dribbles and shots, and California kickball – running the bases and working as a team. Your child will have so much fun doing what kids do best. Includes a field-trip to Penzer Park. Friday Outing: Douglas Park

Let’s Build It! Week | August 19–22
Calling all builders and engineers! What do beavers, birds and humans all have in common? They love to build! This week combines the fun of creating with the joy of learning as kids design and build their own creations. From science kits to LEGO, structures to machines, we learn how inventions work, and grow our imaginations as we build sandcastles and create our own inventions. Includes a field-trip to Crescent Beach. Friday Outing: Redwood Park

Animal Week | August 26–30
Add $25 for Greater Vancouver Zoo
Get ready for a week full of all things animals! From insects to reptiles, amphibians to mammals, our world is filled with beautiful creatures both big and small. Whether they soar in the sky, or crawl on the ground, kids will learn what makes each group of animals unique. Over the week we will explore different types of creatures that live right here around us, and learn more about different creatures that inhabit our world. Friday Outing: Williams Park
